In Our Community

The Taylor County Strong Long-Term Recovery Group has been on the ground in Taylor County helping neighbors recover and rebuild in the wake of major hurricanes like Idalia and Helene. This all-volunteer, community-based effort connects residents with critical resources — from home repair support and FEMA assistance to case management and mental health referrals — and works to restore not just houses but hope. Operating out of Perry and partnering with local organizations, churches and agencies, they offer ongoing support to residents still navigating long-term recovery needs, organizing outreach events and hands-on assistance to help people get back on their feet.
